Joining & Membership

Joining The Club

New swimmers can join at any time of the year. If you would like to join, please send email to [email protected]. A time for you will be arranged for you to come to the club, meet the coaching team and swim a trial session with us. This will enable you to see if you like the club and enable us to see which lane or group would be best for you to start in. These are usually held on Fridays at Harvey Hadden.

If you decide to join we will ask you to complete a membership form and initiate a standing order.

We recommend that Nottingham Swim School swimmers stage 1 to 6 should stay with the Swim School as we only have a few places for siblings of club members in this category. We have a link with Harvey Hadden Swim School stage 7/8 swimmers on a Friday evening.

Change of Details forms should be completed for any changes in address, mobile numbers or medical details of swimmers. They can be given in at the desk at Harvey Hadden on a Friday or Sunday.

Cost of Membership – 2024

The annual membership fee is included in the regular monthly Club fees. The fee also covers Swim England/ASA membership fees, insurance, lifeguards, training of coaches and volunteers and other expenses.

The new monthly fees for Nottingham Northern Swimming Club are detailed below.

NNSC POOL and TRAINING FEES (including MEMBERSHIP FEES) 2024 (Monthly):

£20 JOINING FEE

First or second swimmer

Teaching 1 and 2 £36

Development and County Squads £40

PAID BY STANDING ORDER

Third or subsequent child

TBA paid by Standing Order

If you do not currently pay by Standing Order please ask a member of the Committee for a form. Payment by Standing Order helps the Club run more smoothly so please do swap to Standing Order.

There is a hardship fund which is available for regular, committed swimmers to help with these costs during times of financial hardship. Please speak to the treasurer, Gill Salsbury about this or contact her at [email protected]

Helpers and Volunteers: Most helpers are required to become a Category 3 member of Swim England/ASA. The swimming club pays £15.00 annually to Swim England for each Category 3 member. The payment includes an insurance premium for Public Liability. We ask therefore for a minimum of £1.50 per year to help towards our outlay.
