About Us

Nottingham Northern Swimming Club was founded 115 years’ ago in 1908.

Affiliated to the Nottinghamshire ASA, Nottingham Northern Swimming Club is one of the oldest swimming clubs in the country with the enviable reputation of being one of the best teaching clubs in the region.

Apart from our Head Coach, all those who help at the club are unpaid volunteers. The club relies on its members to get involved and help in any way they feel able to do so.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT 

Nottingham Northern Swimming Club is a friendly and competitive swimming club which welcomes both female and male swimmers from all backgrounds and cultures from the age of five from a very basic level of swimming. The swimming club exists for the benefits of the swimmers to develop their swimming skills and stamina and to instill in all the swimmers a code of behaviour which will which enable them to be a credit to society.

We aim to provide a supportive and encouraging atmosphere where all swimmers of all backgrounds can improve their technique and stamina enabling them to achieve the very best that they can. This may involve swimming at club level, at Notts ASA galas, at County Galas and beyond.

We aim to be a family friendly club where all swimmers can swim at the same time and place in different lanes keeping families together.

All coaches and team managers are DBS checked and undergo appropriate child protection training. Coaches are well trained and committed to the welfare and well being of all the swimmers and the committee strives for excellence in governance and professionalism.
